A free health check-up and blood donation camp was successfully conducted at Akkamahadevi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bidar, under the initiative of IQAC and NSS, with the objective of promoting preventive healthcare and social responsibility among students and the local community.
The camp was organised in collaboration with Vijayshree Health Care, Bidar, and was led by Dr. Sachin Patil, Consultant Physician and Diabetologist. The program witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and members of the surrounding community.
During the camp, participants underwent basic medical screening, including general health assessment, blood pressure monitoring, and blood sugar evaluation. Alongside health screening, a structured blood donation drive was conducted, encouraging voluntary participation and raising awareness about the importance of blood donation in emergency and critical care settings.
Dr. Sachin Patil provided medical guidance and counselling during the camp, focusing on early identification of health risks, lifestyle-related conditions, and the importance of regular health monitoring. Participants were also educated on preventive measures, nutrition, and long-term disease management.
The initiative reflected a strong collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare providers in addressing community health needs. Programs such as these play a vital role in improving health awareness, especially among young adults, and reinforce the importance of preventive medicine at the grassroots level.
The organisers, faculty, and NSS volunteers of Akkamahadevi Mahila Mahavidyalaya expressed appreciation for the medical support and participation, highlighting the positive impact of collaborative healthcare initiatives in Bidar.
